The code, STRM-AB3OK, was created for a single redemption and was supposed to work exactly once.
It didn’t.
The Mistake
Instead of being used by one trader, the code began spreading faster than anyone expected. It was shared in private chats, forwarded in trading groups, and passed from one trader to another across the community. What was meant to be a small giveaway suddenly became something much bigger.
Within just 10 hours, more than 50,000 traders had successfully redeemed the offer.
The reason was simple: we made a mistake. The one-use protection that should have limited the code to a single redemption was never properly enforced, allowing thousands of traders to claim an account that was never meant to exist at this scale.
The Decision
The moment we realized what had happened, we had a choice to make. We could have canceled every account, and moved on as if it never happened. We could have blamed the system, hidden behind terms and conditions, or sent out a standard apology explaining that the promotion was never intended for mass use.
But that’s not what we did.
Instead, we made a different decision, every single claimed account would be honored. No cancellations, no excuses, and no “system error” emails. If the mistake was ours, then the responsibility should be ours too.
